FCCT SAN CARLOS OWNERSHIP MEETING 2019

FCCT San Carlos Office, V. Gustilo Street, Brgy. 5, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental

FCCT San Carlos City Service Center conducted an Ownership Meeting at the service center office last June 29, 2019. The meeting started when the Board of Directors decided to have a running quorum to meet the minimum member’s attendance as the program progress since the other members were still coming.

The Board of Directors graced the event. Mr. Mardonio Benting, BOD Chairman; Mr. Magdaleno Bargamento, BOD Vice Chairman; Mr. Nicanor Colminas, BOD Member; Mr. Loreto Sanchez, BOD Member & Mrs. Nemna Velasco, BOD Member were in attendance.

Mr. Loreto Sanchez started the activity by welcoming the members with an exercise by knowing the seatmate’s name and say “Good morning” because as he has said, “Dapat naa ta sa Cooperative, dapat friends ta”. Then he explained the role of the members in the cooperative. Mr. Mardonio Benting talked a short message on the 4P’s of the cooperative: Patronize, Pay or bayad, Participate, and Promote.

Mr. Magdaleno Bargamento talked about the governance of Cooperative. “The reason why we are cooperative is because of our common bond of interest. Without it people will just come and go”, he said. “Because of the numerous amounts of members in FCCT, it is difficult to gather all of them at once. That is why branches are allowed to choose representatives to attend the Representative Assembly”, he added. He then mentioned that by replicating the best practices other branches did such as integrated farming, agri-business, learning centers, water refilling, and other income-generating services would be a great help for the income of the branch aside from Microfinance products and services. Organizational updates were also disseminated to the members and told them that those who are selected as representatives of the branch must not decline.

Mrs. Nemna Velasco told the members who are present that they are the loyalist ones. Insights about FCCT were expressed by Mr. Nicanor Colminas on how was FCCT back then, having struggles in the past and how FCCT managed to resolve the issues.

Financial statement of the service center was reported by Mrs. Ma. Roniza R. Genon, Service Center Bookkeeper

Mr. Joel Sabellano, one of the Service Center officers, acknowledged the presence of the members and the BODs as he gave his closing message before the branch released their Dividend and Patronage Refund. He also shared a bit of his experience about CACAO Project, about how it will be a table turner once the FCCT San Carlos will start venturing on this project.

Indeed, it was a successful Ownership Meeting for FCCT San Carlos. Through the years of service of the branch, it wouldn’t be as successful as it is today without the help of the members – the co-owners of the cooperative and the staff – the people behind the operation of the branch. Together, FCCT San Carlos will grow.
