FCCT CACAO PROJECT ORIENTATION

Quezon, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental

It was a great opportunity for FCCT San Carlos to venture other projects. It is for the betterment for everyone, not only for the branch itself but also for the development of the members.

On July 7, 2019, FCCT CACAO Project Orientation was conducted in Barangay Quezon, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental. The event was headed by Mr. Joseph P. Rico, FCCT San Carlos Service Center Head together with his staff. It was graced with the presence of Ms. Clavel P. Aves, FCCT Agri-Business Manager, who also act as the resource speaker. The orientation was done in the place of Barangay Kagawad Bienvenido C. Sequilis who was also one of the participants.

The orientation was started with a prayer. After which, Mr. Rico acknowledged the participants and introduced the speaker to them. As the activity was in progress, the speaker, Ms. Aves, showed a video clip about “Cacao ng Davao” as a glimpse of how productive Cacao is once it is implemented. The orientation went well as Ms. Aves talked about history, the impact of Cacao on the market, and points to consider on growing Cacao from drafting to its production stage.

After the orientation, open forum was raised. The audience then committed their lands to be part of the project since their questions were answered as they please.

At lunch time, everyone gathered for a “salo-salo” before they went for an initial survey of a land with Cacaos planted. Their faces shone with happiness when Ms. Aves said that the remaining Cacao plants on that land only have to be rehabilitated.
