FCCT CACAO ORIENTATION DON SALVADOR BENEDICTO

Barangay Bagong Silang, Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental

An enjoyable day for FCCT San Carlos personnel and staff as they go to Barangay Bagong Silang, Don Salvador Benedicto for another FCCT Cacao Project Orientation.

On June 8, 2019, the orientation was again spearheaded by Mr. Joseph P. Rico, FCCT Service Center Head with the FCCT staff. Ms. Clavel P. Aves, FCCT Agri-Business Manager, was invited to be the resource speaker. The activity was attended by the Ita Tribe from different places in Northern Negros Occidental. It was their Chieftain, Pastor Richard S. Impil, who called the tribes’ attention to attend the said orientation.

Before everything else, Pastor Impil started with a prayer and was followed by the introduction of the speaker and the acknowledgement of the audience. Ms. Aves’ lecture was started with an energizer. After which, Ms. Aves showed a video clip about “Cacao ng Davao” which shows how dynamic Cacao production is. Given the considerable number of the audience, Ms. Aves successfully delivered the information needed for the tribe to start growing Cacao. She talked about history, impact of Cacao in the market, and points to consider on growing Cacao from drafting to its production stage.

At the end of the orientation, questions were raised and answered immediately. A group picture hinted the end of the session which also served as remembrance of the orientation with FCCT and the Ita Tribe.
